PAY THRESHOLD

Public funding for healthcare in Ontario was being diverted to private institutions, resulting in patients struggling to receive the care they need. While most Ontarians supported greater investments in public healthcare services, the argument for private healthcare was becoming increasingly more tempting.

With such a major threat diluting public healthcare, OPSEU—a trade union representing 180,000 public sector employees in the province—needed to inform Ontarians that for-profit privatized healthcare was a slippery slope.

RESULTS

• +49 million impressions

• +2 million post engagements

• +700k views of the campaign video in the first 24 hours of campaign launch

• +11,000 emails sent to the Premier, health minister, and Ontario MPPs

• Became OPSEU’s more successful campaign
